Bateleur Eagle and Puff adder
During the July 2013 camera traps session we encountered on the road a killed puff adder (Bitis arietans). A Bateleur Eagle (Teratopius ecaudatus) was busy eating it when we arrived. The puff adder was apparently killed by a car on the road marking the northern boundary of the Beekeeping zone, connecting Inyonga to Mpanda. The Eagle came back on its prey as soon as we moved. Bateleurs are frequently seen flying over the miombo woodlands of the beekeeping zone.
